On November 14th, that dedication took place in Pattaya, the Rest and Relaxation resort of many Americans stationed at nearby U-Tapao Royal Thai Navy Airfield. Four members of the U-Tapao Alumni Association were selected to meet and greet the Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
For the four members of this group who were selected to meet the Crown Princess Sirindhorn, their lives have been permanently altered and this piece of writing cannot do that meeting justice. What you will read next is copies of official news reports and private emails. Below is a picture of that event. More pictures can be seen at

Ken Bower being one of those is heavily involved with the ex-pat community in Thailand. One of the things Ken got involved in was a memorial to American servicemen who served in Thailand over the years, particularly during the war in Vietnam.
This is more than any of us could have ever imagined for a reunion trip. I am tickled and proud beyond comprehension at being a member of this group. The fabulous group of folks, who make it up, I am proud to call friends.
What a way to wrap up what supposed to be just 2 weeks of camaraderie, fellowship, sightseeing and reminiscing. We not only went back in time, we brought the time warp up to date and made it current. If you weren't there, I wish you had been and hope that in some small way you are able to travel back with us at least in the photo albums of your mind. I hope the pictures you keep from then will meld with the photos of today and enhance your memory.

There is no way this can be topped!
